Because I am a one-man team, there may be times I need to step away from our one-on-one consulting session for a brief moment to ring up a walk-in neighbor. Your paid time is incredibly valuable to me. If our session is ever interrupted, I immediately pause your clock. To make things right, we will either agree on a fair discount for your session today, or I will add extra free time directly back onto your clock. Your time and money are respected here.
In-Shop "Fair Shake" Diagnostics
It costs a flat $15 for me to put your device on the bench and diagnose the exact problem. If I am genuinely stumped and cannot give you a path forward, I waive that fee entirely—you pay $0. If I find the problem and you decide to have me fix it, that $15 is credited directly toward your final repair bill. If your device requires an advanced repair center, you also have the option to take advantage of my secure concierge service where I transport and manage the repair for you. If you choose that route, your initial $15 will be applied directly toward my handling fee.
On-Site "Wheels Down" Policy
To ensure the retail shop stays fully staffed during the week, house calls and business visits are exclusively scheduled for evenings (after 5 PM) and Saturdays. My general service area covers a roughly 20-mile radius around Kalkaska (if you are 21 or 22 miles out, just call me—I'm not going to leave a neighbor stranded over a line on a map). I charge my standard hourly labor rate only if I can actually solve your problem or provide a concrete path forward. If I drive out and determine your equipment is completely dead, I waive my hourly labor rate entirely—you just pay a flat $25 Local Trip Charge to cover the travel, and we call it even.
The "No Guesswork" Guarantee
I do not experiment on your devices. Your hardware is too important (and too expensive) for guesswork. If you bring me an issue I am not 100% confident I can fix safely, I will give you the honest truth before I ever pick up a screwdriver. I will never use your equipment as a training exercise. If I am unsure about a repair, I will be completely transparent and help you find the right regional specialist for the job.
